Our local baseball team, the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, help create a sense of community here in Anaheim. Taking kids to see a professional baseball team is a great way to get them excited about sports, and is an easy way the family can relax while having fun. We are so anxious for the new season to start, we can smell the hot dogs and cracker jacks already! To celebrate the Angels Home Opener on April 4th, we present a few ideas on how to get kids involved in the baseball fun.
Race in the Angels 5k & Fun Run
Join the annual 5k & Fun Run! The run (or walk if you prefer) is presented by St. Joseph Hoag Health and benefits the Angels Baseball Foundation. The Angels Baseball Foundation works within the community “to create and improve Education, Healthcare, Arts & Sciences, and Community related youth programs throughout the region, in addition to providing children the opportunity to experience the great game of baseball and its countless positive attributes”. Kids get to have fun while learning the importance of giving back.
Join Junior Angels Kids Club
We understand that enjoying a baseball game can become expensive quick, from all the tasty food to buying a souvenir. The Junior Angels Kids Club is an inexpensive way to give kids the chance to enjoy the game and leave with special gear to create a unique memory. For $18, each membership includes four Angel ticket vouchers, a Junior Angels lunch bag, a Junior Angels Shirt, an official sweatband bracelet, a Junior Angels toy, and $5 gift card towards the Angels Team store. Each member is automatically entered to win autographed merchandise during the season. They also promise other exclusive gifts and offers throughout the year!
Participate in Pitch, Hit, & Run
This is an opportunity for kids who dream of being a professional baseball player one day. Pitch, Hit, & Run is the official skills event of Major League Baseball. These FREE events allow kids to compete in four levels of competition in local communities and at 30 Major League ballparks, including Angel Stadium. You can join an already existing competition or even start your own!
Family Sunday
During select Sunday games, families can enjoy interactive games, arts & crafts, and visits with the mascots in the Right Field Pavilion. Kids aged 5-12 also get the chance to run the bases, all for FREE! For a small price, you can purchase the “Friends & Family Fun Pack“, available for select home games, which includes four tickets, four hot dogs, and four drinks.
