Disneyland Tips and Tricks – Grand Legacy At The Park Review

By October 28, 2015Blog

My family and I are huge Disneyland fans. We visit several times a year – in fact, we are heading over in a few weeks for Mickey’s Halloween Party. This will be our third year at the party and I’m excited to share about it on the blog. When we visit later this month, we will be staying at one of our favorite places, the Grand Legacy At The Park. We always, always recommend this hotel to our friends, so I thought I would share why we love it so much!

1. Location!

This is why I love, love, love Grand Legacy At The Park (RMATP)! It is literally a five minute walk to the turnstiles. This is especially convenient when you have a stroller, or two! No breaking down the stroller to get on a bus or a tram, and no long waits to board that bus or tram. When you decide you want to leave the park, you can be back in your room in just a matter of minutes.

2. Budget

The Disneyland hotels are amazing, but for a family like ours who likes to visit several times a year, they are just not in our budget for every stay. Unlike Disney World, Disneyland does not have a hotel comparable to the Disney World Value resorts. We can usually stay 2-3 nights at the RMATP for the same price as one night at a Disneyland Resort.

3. Amenities

The rooms at the Grand Legacy At The Park are clean and comfortable, and this is huge: they offer a free breakfast! The breakfast is served just off the pool and it’s a lovely place to have a quick bite in the morning. We love to hit the park as early as possible, so being able to grab a quick breakfast versus waiting in line somewhere at the park is a big time saver. My kids especially look forward to the chocolate donuts they usually have:0) My husband and I like to take our travel coffee mugs with us and take our coffee to go!

4. The Pool

Truthfully, this is my very favorite part of the Grand Legacy At The Park! Over the years, we have spent a lot of time hanging out by the RMATP pool and we just love it. The pool is a great way to relax when the park gets really busy in the afternoons. After lunch, we like to head back to the RMATP and beat the crowds by taking a swim. Sometimes we even take a nap so we can close the park down in the evening!

The Splash Pad is perfect for kids! Here is my daughter enjoying it in the middle of winter, December 30th to be precise!

It has a beach entry and about half the pool is shallow enough that littler kids can enjoy the water too.

Here are my two oldest relaxing by the pool on a different trip. We have been know to order pizza poolside on days that our annual passes are blocked out! We highly recommend Marri’s Pizza and Pasta. The pizza is delicious and they will deliver right to the pool area!

5. The People

We have always found the staff to be so polite and helpful! They are always working to improve the hotel and your stay. Visit their blog to see the really personal touch they have!

The Grand Legacy At The Park is close to completing their newest additions, a new lobby, suites, breakfast room, and rooftop lounge for fireworks viewing. How amazing will that be? I’m really excited to see the progress on this new addition when we visit in a few weeks!
