If you have ever taken the time to do an online search for Disneyland Resort tips, you have seen the never ending list of suggestions. People will bombard you with ideas on how to get the best spots for a show, how to save time on rides, and ways to avoid the crowds. With that being said, we have come across a lot of these tips and we have found some of them to be good advice. But we have also found some of them that are not as good as they think, and others can be downright terrible. So we decided to share some of the worst tips about the Disneyland Resort that we have come across and tell you why they may be misleading, even if they sound good.
1. “Eating lunch while standing in line is the easiest way to not miss out on rides.”
We cannot say that this one is completely false. If grabbing food on the go was not beneficial, fast food would not be a multi-billion dollar industry. Here is the thing though, you will be doing a lot of walking and standing at the Disneyland Resort and if you never take the time to sit down and relax while you eat, you will get tired very quickly. Not to mention eating in line could cause you to get sick on a ride!
I lose my appetite just looking at that crowd
2. “After one ride, the quicker you get to the next one the less time you will spend in line.”
If the Disneyland Resort were a race and we were all going in the same direction then this one might be true. But think about it…the park is huge! There are people who could have been waiting in line since you got on the previous ride. Everyone who just got off the ride with you are not all going to the same place. Rushing around like you are in a contest to see who gets there first will just take away from your time to enjoy the Disneyland Resort. You might even fall and hurt yourself!
3. “The best view of the fireworks is from Astro Orbiter.”
Yes, someone really said this. I think we can all agree that it is pretty cool to see fireworks from a point above the crowds, but whoever thought that it would be good idea to watch fireworks from a ride that spins in circles…we have to disagree?
What a great show, a giant blur!
You will not have a complete view because the center part of the ride will obstruct the show. All you will get from doing this is a sore neck and a real bad case of vertigo.
4. “Fantasyland attractions are less crowded during the parade.”
Even if this is true, it is so marginal that it really will not make a difference. Instead of waiting 45 minutes for Peter Pan, you will only wait 40 minutes. It’s Disney®, there are going to be crowds on almost every ride or attraction.
5. “Don’t take a backpack, it will only weigh you down.”
If you have been to the Disneyland Park, then you know just how wrong this is. Think about this, walking all day, in the sun, plenty of standing, few rest stops, hunger pangs, thirst, almost sounds like you are hiking up Mount Everest!
Do not overdo it with packing, but you should be stocked with the essentials like sunscreen, snacks, water, etc.
6. “If the line is super long, just wait it out because people will leave.”
This one really gets a lot of people, but that does not mean it always works. There will be people who leave the line, but do not expect an entire crowd to waltz away and change your wait time by 30 minutes. You could probably save more time by planning out your rides and going for the more popular rides during their slower times.
When doing your research on the Disneyland Resort, make sure to look into a few different sources. Also, try to get advice from a nearby source, or one who frequents the park a lot.
A few things we would keep in mind while preparing for your Disneyland Resort vacation is to make sure that you plan out what you would like to do inside the park. Pack the essentials that you will need while in the park, or if you stay at Grand Legacy At The Park, you will be close enough to your room to make a quick trip back if you need anything. Doing these things will definitely help you to save time and get the most out of your trip.
Staying at a nice hotel would not hurt either

I wondered if there is any way to find out when the 3 room suites are available. It seems whenever I check, they are not available. Thank you.
