Given Disneyland’s close proximity to Tinsel Town, it should come as no surprise that celebrities have been visiting the Happiest Place on Earth since it opened in 1955. In the days before cell phone cameras and social media, it was much easier for celebrities to visit the park incognito, and in fact, there are very few photographs out there of celebrities at Disneyland in the 1950’s through the 1970’s. A couple of the more famous celebrity visits in the early days were Elizabeth Taylor (pictured below), who visited Disneyland several times with her children and several of her husband (seen below is Richard Burton). Twiggy, the 1960’s supermodel, shot a Disneyland TV special and there are some images of her at the park available today as well.

Modern celebrities frequent Disneyland and Disney World fairly often, though they are likely finding it harder and harder to enjoy a day out of the spotlight now that everyone on the planet is armed with a camera and a social media account. In fact, the Instagram and Twitter account @Disneyland Celeb makes it their mission to let their followers know what celebs are in the parks and when. Everyone from the Kardashians to Emma Stone to John Krasinski and Emily Blunt (pictured below) have visited the parks and had photos shared all over the social media stratosphere. From what I have personally seen, most celebrities are very gracious about posing for pictures with fans and stopping to sign autographs. Often times you will see celebrities being escorted around Disneyland by official Disneyland tour guides (the ones in the adorable plaid outfits), which allows them some perks like skipping lines and priority seating at shows and restaurants. However, plenty of celebs (granted the more minor ones), will throw on a baseball cap and some sunglasses and try to remain incognito during their park visit.
