Whether you’re a huge Disney® fanatic or not we all grew up loving and watching these movies at one point or another, but what we probably didn’t notice were the Easter eggs left in multiple films. And no, we don’t mean actual eggs throughout the movies but more like little surprises or guest appearances from other Disney® characters. Some of these Easter eggs are more difficult to catch while others may be way easier but if you pay close enough attention we’ll bet you can spot some. If you decide to go back through your Disney® movie catalog and binge watch them all or if you just want to continue reading this blog, you’d be surprised at how clever Disney® can be with these “hidden” Easter eggs. We’ve compiled a short list to get you started. Who knows, this may spark an interest in you that you never knew existed. Prepare to be amazed!
1. The Toy Story series is definitely a fan favorite. How many of you noticed that Sid from the original Toy Story made an appearance as the garbage man in Toy Story 3? Take a look at the skull on the shirt.
2. A Goofy Movie is one of my personal favorites. I remember watching it everyday as a child and I still catch myself watching it anytime it comes on TV. I’ve watched this movie countless times throughout the years and I’ve never paid any attention to Tick-Tock, the crocodile from Peter Pan, backstage at the concert. How did this go unnoticed?
3. I know you all remember Scar from The Lion King and the tears you may (or may not) have shed in the demise of Mufasa on his behalf. The lion in Hercules looks very similar to Scar, does he not? Things that make you go “hmm”.
4. In The Great Mouse Detective you can catch a glimpse of Dumbo as the bubble toy.
5. Frozen instantly became a fan favorite. Everywhere you turn, still to this day, you see Frozen. From costumes, songs, party themes, literally everything is Frozen. But did anyone catch the small Mickey Mouse doll on the bottom shelf in one of the scenes? Just another thing that seemed to slip right by us.
6. Because I love A Goofy Movie so much I have to point out one more Easter egg. This one is also during the concert. If you look closely, you can see Mickey Mouse as one of the fans in the crowd!
7. In Brave, the witch who turns Merida’s mother into a bear has carved Sully from Monster’s Inc. into a log.
8. This is another egg that I probably would have never noticed no matter how many times I’ve watched this movie. Even if you told me exactly where to look its a possibility I would have missed it because it’s so subtle. In Lilo & Stitch there is a restaurant called Mulan Wok.
9. Another one of my favorite Disney® movies is Beauty and the Beast. In Tarzan you can see Mrs. Pot and Chip have made their guest appearance.
10. In the opening scene of Princess and the Frog you can see Aladdin’s magical carpet.
Although the act of leaving Easter eggs is not a new thing, its pretty amazing how fun and exciting Disney® makes it and how consistent they’ve been over the years with leaving these little surprises throughout some already great movies. It’s the very special touch and attention to detail that gets us excited about all things Disney®. We hope this list gets you excited to go on a hunt of your own the next time you watch a Disney® movie!
