Giving Back To Plan International USA

PLAN International USA has been very near and dear to our hearts throughout the years here at Ramada Maingate At The Park. Their vision is of a world in which all children realize their full potential in societies that respect people’s rights and dignity. They are on a mission to achieve lasting improvements in the quality of vulnerable children in developing countries. Some ways they go about this is by:

• Enabling children, their families and their communities to meet basic needs and to increase their ability to participate in and benefit from their societies;
• fostering relationships to increase understanding and unity among peoples of different cultures and countries; and
• promoting the rights and interests of the world’s children

Plan USA takes on some of humankind’s most heartbreaking and intractable issues in deliberate, relentless, and bold fashion and make the children their number one priority.

Ramada Maingate At The Park has always felt the need to make a difference anywhere we can and what better way to do that than to support a charity that works in more than 50 countries for the betterment of the future. We have sponsored eleven kids across the world through Plan USA. In addition to our contributions to the lives of all of these wonderful families we also make quarterly donations to the organization.

“Because I am a Girl” is another Plan USA cause that we have supported. It sheds light on the struggles girls face from the moment they are born that continues with them throughout their lives. Plan USA suggests that by investing in a girl and her future, we know for a fact that she can lift herself out of poverty, altering the economic condition of her family, her community and ultimately her country. We too are strong believers of this which is why we’ve had a helping hand in ending bullying of young girls and violence in 40 Indonesian schools as well as ending early forced marriage in Egypt. Through “Because I am a Girl” we have also helped create better lives for girls in Sierra Leone. Support groups have been created that will protect them from harm in their native countries and provide them with the necessary financial skills to save money and plan for their futures. Plan USA says, “Invest in a girl and she will change the world” and this video is the perfect visual explanation of this.

Ramada Maingate At The Park believes that every dollar gets us closer to a world where young boys and girls realize their full potential. Because of that, we have asked guests to donate a dollar at check-in and we have matched the donations, allowing us to write checks to PLAN International USA each quarter. It has been a honor donating to such a great cause for the past few years, and we want to thank those guests who have contributed.
