As a first time visitor to the Anaheim Packing House I must admit that the experience was more than what I expected. The historic buildings are completely refurbished and have some really exciting uses. I honestly had not heard of it before but it was everything plus more. We were given a tour of the entire Packing House building by Grace Chung, the Tenant & Community Relations Manager, and the details inside and out were breathtaking.
The two-level Packing House harbors 20+ restaurants, Cooks Chapel, private event venue with a community kitchen, as well as The Backyard, an outdoor event area with a fireplace and orange grove. Not only are there delicious eateries and cafes to choose from but you can also enjoy some free live entertainment every weekend (Thursday-Sunday). The photo below shows the delicious sushi at Orange Tei, one of many of their unique restaurants. The Packing House sets itself apart by offering a lot of first-timer or start up restaurants like Black Sheep grilled cheese bar, Crepe Coop, Georgia’s soul food, and Rolling Boil.
The top level features the Film Farm that shows old school films in a small but really cool room. There is also a private community room, which used to be the Packing House office, that is available for rent. It holds about 20-25 people and is closed off away from the rest of the Packing House. What I really love is you can cater food from any of their in-house restaurants for any space you rent out!
One of my favorite areas from the tour was Cooks Chapel. This private room pays “tribute to culinary artistry and chefs everywhere” and seats up to 125 guests. It is the perfect space for a wedding reception, family gathering, business meeting or even cooking classes. There is a full exhibition kitchen that can be left open for catered events or closed. One of the coolest characteristics of this particular room was the “secret” entrance that is completely unnoticeable to the naked eye.

Only having been here since May of 2014 the Anaheim Packing House is the perfect place for residents looking for a new hang out spot or visitors wanting to explore one of Anaheim’s newer historic gems.
Our friends at the Packing District are definitely leaving their mark on Anaheim’s growing entertainment scene. I encourage everyone to pay a visit here and experience everything it has to offer!
