I marked on my calendar, Disney Fieldtrip. I was a little nervous since I haven’t been there before and I’ve heard how crowded it can get at times. My boss, Jennifer, kept asking if I was excited and I sure was, but I also did not know what to expect especially at the 60th Anniversary Diamond Celebration. This is my story of being a first timer at Disneyland Resort.
My first walk to Disneyland from Ramada Maingate – At The Park was a walk in the park. I’m so grateful for working at a hotel that’s super close to the park entrance. It was a perfect walk for my short legs.
Once I got there, my heart was filled with joy. The lady that scanned my ticket didn’t seem as excited as I was (I have yet to meet someone with my energy level). Of course you have to take a picture right when you enter! The landscaping that goes into Disneyland Resort amuses me so much!
I received a little piece of paper with Pluto on it and thought I’ll keep that for my scrapbook. Meanwhile, Jennifer drops her piece of paper, so I pick it up off the ground and put it in my backpack while she was Periscoping. For some odd reason, I wanted to keep this piece of paper and not let it lay on the park ground.
Once Jennifer was done Periscoping, she was scrambling through her backpack. Sure enough she said, “I lost my
ticket!” I said, “I think I have it, that piece of paper thing, right?” She didn’t believe me, so I pulled out her ticket from my backpack and she had the biggest smile on her face. I had no idea that this piece of paper was what was going to get us in between the parks aka a Park Hopper Pass. Good thing I kept her ticket, or else I would have had to venture out all on my own! S C A R Y!
Taking photos is always fun. Of course I took a photo with one of the workers that just simply looked cute. She told me that I could get a button since it’s my first time at Disneyland Resort. How awesome is that! So if you’re a first timer like me, remember to get your FREE button. Unlike me, I got so distracted with everything that I never got a button, but I still had an awesome day without it.
We had a survey at Grand Legacy At The Park to see what ride our guests would love to see us ride on. Peter Pan’s Flight was the winner! Peter Pan’s Flight had recently been remodeled, and I was very pleased with the beauty of the lights and of course the air conditioner (It was very hot that day). This was the last week of summer so the lines were not what you call short. I think this was the longest line I have ever stood in, but luckily we had the Free Disneyland App to give us accurate wait times of each ride! After riding Peter Pans Flight and Snow White’s Scary Adventure we decided that we should head over to California Adventure and start riding some of those rides. Little did I know this was more of my scene. I love rollercoasters and thrill rides. We started walking and heard loud music, which instantly grabbed my attention. It was the Diamond Mad T Party event going on! There were bright lights, dancing, singing, awesome costumes, and it was an outstanding performance. I would recommend going to that event if you visit during the Diamond Celebration.
After that we got a bite to eat at Flo’s V8 Cafe in Cars Land. Talk about yummy. A secret about me is that I LOVE when it’s food time! I had the Spit-fired Rotisserie Quarter Chicken that comes with mashed potatoes and roasted vegetables. I’m not the biggest veggie fan, unless I cook them myself, so I got the cup of fruit instead. I ate my quarter chicken like there was no tomorrow. People probably thought that I haven’t eaten in days!
One reason I really loved this restaurant was because of the location. We sat at a table in the shade outside near the ride Radiator Springs. We heard all of the passengers in the car scream their heads off! We really wanted to ride this ride, but the line was 2 hours long, and I do not have enough patience for that.
We thought of a plan of action of what rides we wanted to do and where we could capture the best footage for our RMATP fans. Jennifer really enjoys the A Bugs Land. She was going to make sure I saw that on my first day. Feeling like a tiny person is pretty fun (even though I’m already short). We rode the Chew-Chew Train Adventure. It was nice to get off our feet, but not my favorite ride. I think maybe that’s where my roller coaster side comes out. It was a short line, nice ride and perfect for little ones.
Get prepared to hear about my ultimate favorite ride! (Drum roll please!)
California Screamin’ Roller Coaster is the winner! We stood in the single passenger line knowing that Jennifer and I would be split up. I didn’t want her to hear me scream the whole way. Sure enough, we got split up and I sat in the second row. It was dusk outside, so the lights were on which made the ride 10x more beautiful! The ride is fast, has big drops, and is the only ride in the park that takes you upside down.
After we got off California Screaming, we rushed back to Disneyland Park to see the Paint The Night Parade. Talk about an exciting night! The lights were so bright and beautiful! We got some fabulous footage of the different floats that passed us.
After the parade, we had to go ride one last ride before calling it a night. Space Mountain here we come! The line wasn’t as long as it seemed, and while we were in line, we got a glimpse of the fireworks. The ride was dark and not what I would call an intense roller coaster, but fun for people who appreciate a little adrenaline.
All in all, would I go back to Disneyland Resort? Heck yes! It was a blast and my jaw hurt at the end of the night from smiling and laughing too much. I am officially a Disneyland Resort Addict!
