My Boss has gone MAD!

By April 22, 2015Blog

Yes, you heard me right. I have had my fair share of crazy bosses, but mix a crazy boss with a super competitive hotel industry and that is a recipe for disaster! Imagine working somewhere that never closes, with hundreds of new people in and out daily…and lots of children! Imagine having too much work and not enough staff. Imagine having a pushy boss that expects your best and even more. And then imagine trying to be the BEST HOTEL IN ANAHEIM, one of the busiest tourist cities in the USA thanks to Disneyland, all while your hotel is in its redevelopment stage. Talk about enough to make you go MAD! You think your work day is tough? Check out some things I’ve had to deal with lately…
1.   “I want 1,406,254,340 followers on Facebook!, Do it NOW!” – Unrealistic Boss

“We currently have 6,800, I’ll get on that.” – Me

2.   “I want everyone to have a happy and enjoyable stay, and I don’t want to see any negative reviews, dangit!” – Angry Boss

“This is the real world, boss…” – Me

3.   Someone on Twitter just said “@GrandLegacyATP this place forbids cats and kittens from being fed, and if they are stray shame in them!!!” – Weird Guy

“Ugh how do we respond to this?” – Marketing Department

4.   Revenue meetings that last 4+ hours, that include 12 massive binders, 5 people, 1 table, please help me!

5.   “I want an Email Blast sent out…NOW!” – Demanding Boss

“Alright boss, I’ll pull that out of my…” – Me

6.   On St. Patrick’s Day I was the only employee who wore green. I was informed that no one celebrates holidays in the office, and I should go ahead and forget about my Birthday too.

7.  “I want to spend less money, and make more.” –Dreaming Boss

8.  “You’re the new person, come up with all of the solutions NOW!” – Expects Too Much Boss

9.  “Your Mom sent you a plant for your office? What did you do to deserve that?” – Pessimist Boss

These are just a few of the things I’ve encountered on the job here. And I have a feeling things are going to get even crazier. I wonder what my boss is going to do tomorrow…
